7’9” # 5 line 2 piece 2 tips bag & tube with ferrule plug The ferrule plug indicates the rod was built after 1948 The Payne catalog states they made the first parabolic rods in 1936 Durning that time Jim Payne discused the parabolic action with Charles Ritz & John Alden Knight. they were very convincing this led to this great rod Paul young developed his parabolic tapers in the 1940s I worked with Mr. Young starting in 1956 building parabolic action rods which I still do 65years later I have lawn cast this rod It is my kind of rod I used a 406 Wf. 5 with a 9Ft. 4x leader its a casting machine. It may be a hair less parabolic than the Paul young Parabolic 15 And my Model 856 The rod is in excellent condition it realy shows little use
