Dear Fellow Fisherman,
Here is a chance to help preserve one of the world's greatest trout streams, the Boardman River. It is also the home to the Adams fly, which is the most popular dry fly in the world. The fly was invented in the 1920's by Len Halladay of Mayfield, Michigan, which is within walking distance of the Boardman River, where he first tested the fly out.

Our home is on the Boardman River, which enables me to keep a watch on the river. We have a local organization called Boardman River Project that works very hard to protect and restore the river. Once a year I donate one of my cane rods for a raffle. One hundred percent of this money goes into the river restoration.

Since the removal of the Brown bridge dam we have gained over two miles of new river. We now have a lot of river bank to plant and fish structure to build. Removing this dam got rid of a two hundred acre heat sink which will make a colder river down stream from the former dam.

If you would like to help and maybe win the rod, please make a check out to the GTCD (Grand Traverse Conservation District) for as many tickets as you would like and mail to me, address is:

Bob Summers
90 River Road East
Traverse City, MI 49686 USA

I will mail you back the large part of the ticket. Tickets are $10 each. Only one thousand tickets were printed. The winning ticket will be drawn September 17th, 2015 at the Boardman River Nature Center. You do not have to be present at the drawing to win.

This is the 19th year I have donated a rod. The rod is my Model 856 8' for # 5 -6 line, two tips, bag and tube.

Bonus!

If you purchase a total of ten or more tickets, and are the winner of the fly rod, Bob Summers will take you on a personal fly fishing float trip! Bob and the lucky winner will use George Giffith's AuSable River Boat. The trip will last 5-8 hours on the AuSable, Manistee, or Boardman Rivers! Tickets may be purchased separately. Good luck!
